A TEENAGE magician will take to the stage in a bid to show off his talent.
And Fraser Stokes, from Maidens, will team up with Ayr singer Andy Merry in a variety show on Scottish soil.
Andy and his band, The Risk, will headline the show off the back of their appearance on the recent X Factor tour.
But it’s 16-year-old Fraser who’s hoping to make the big impression at the Young Variety gig.
The show, at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall this Sunday, will raise money for children’s charity the Variety Club.
Teen magic man Fraser auditioned for the show earlier this year and impressed the show’s production team with his talent.
His mum and dad even postponed their family holiday for a few days so they could bring their son to Glasgow for the big audition.
Fraser has been practising his magic routine in the run up to the show and is thrilled to be appearing at the world famous venue.
Young Variety 2012 is the fifth children’s variety show to be organised by the Variety Club of Scotland – with every penny of the proceeds used to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in Scotland.
The show brings together award-winning performers from across the central belt – Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.
Taking part this year are some of Scotland’s finest emerging artistic talents including singers, dancers, musicians, songwriters and Fraser the magician.
The show is produced by broadcaster and journalist Angus Simpson, who said: “We couldn’t be more pleased with the line up for this year’s show which truly is a variety show – there is something there for everyone.
“We have everything from hip-hop to ballet, from the musicals to magic and a 70-strong Glee-style showchoir.
“Ayrshire should be very proud of Fraser. He came along to our auditions and really impressed the production team with his tricks and stage presence.
“We wanted to have a young magician in the show and I am sure with Fraser we have found one of the best. “All our young performers are amazing and, with our special guests The Risk, it will be a wonderful night out which will help deserving children in Scotland through Variety Club.”
