A GUITAR-PLAYING school jannie and a search-and-rescue flight manager became MBEs in the Queen’s birthday honours.
Girvan Academy janitor Davie Hunter, 56, (above) brings Burns’ songs to life for young people.
And he has selflessly given his own time to promote Scottish culture to the young.
Janet Booth, from Ayr, manages day-to-day flight operations at HMS Gannet – the UK’s busiest helicopter search and rescue unit.
Janet, 52, has been recognised for her outstanding service – first with the Royal Navy, and now as a civil servant.
