Ayr man admits assault on his dad

AN Ayr man has been ordered to stay away from his parents after he admitted assaulting his dad.

Gordon Barr also pleaded guilty to resisting four police officers who tried to arrest him after the attack.

Barr, now of Cathcart Street, appeared in Ayr Sheriff Court this week.

He admitted that on June 15 this year at an address near Maybole he assaulted his father, William Barr, and placed him in a headlock.

His defence lawyer Peter Lockhart asked that the sheriff call for reports given the nature of the offences.

Barr was released on bail while reports are prepared.
