Ayrshire Hospice Ball raises over £75,000

THE 15th Ayrshire Hospice Summer Ball raised over £75,000 on Saturday.

Among the 800 guests who had a great time dancing the night away to the big band sound of Todd Miller and the Joe Loss orchestra in the huge marquee at Belleisle Park was Laura Cuthbert, from Maidens, who won a table for 10 in our recent competition.

Celebrity auctioneer Charlie Ross from BBC’s Flog It! auctioned off some fabulous prizes.

It was certainly a memorable night for one ball-goer, David Watson, from Alloway, who gave the top bid for the night of £7,500, for an oil painting of Italian poet Dante, donated by Ayrshire’s own internationally famous artist Peter Howson.

David also won a brand new car, courtesy of Arnold Clark.com in the prize draw during the evening.
