SCOTLAND legend Kenny Dalglish reckons Ayr United are the future.
King Kenny gave his glowing verdict on a visit to Somerset Park as 350 schoolkids were put through their paces.
United’s community coaches gave children from 11 South Ayrshire primary schools a footballing masterclass.
The McDonald’s soccer roadshow came to Ayr, offering kids a range of innovative skill games.
And Dalglish was on hand to join the fun and pass on his advice to the starstruck children.
Kenny revealed: “It was brilliant to see the kids enjoying themselves and I wish I’d had something like this when I was young."
“Huge credit must go to Ayr United for chipping in with their community coaches and offering this for the youngsters in the area.”
The free festival was the first of a project that will tour Britain coaching more than 10,000 youngsters.
Ayr’s head of community coaching, David White, said: “Everyone had a great time at the festival — it was a fantasic opportunity for youngsters to receive some great coaching and also meet new friends within a fun-packed day.”
