Hello folks!

I can tell you I’ve just had an absolutely superb weekend of it.

I had the privilege of performing at the reopened Gaiety Theatre in Ayr and what a brilliant experience it was.

It’s looking fantastic and it’s obvious a lot of hard work has gone in to bringing the theatre back to life and it can only be a fantastic thing.

Friday’s show was a sell out and I’d like to say a massive thanks to all the performers and the audience who came along, it was just superb and great to have the event supported so passionately.

•Mark Rafferty, Alan Frew and Siobhan Wilson perform at The Gaiety on Friday, February 8 as part of the continuing Studio Sessions at The Gaiety.

Siobhan has recently supported Ben E King and is tipped for the top by BBC Radio 1, the chantuesse has previously lived in Paris and been signed to record companies over there and is now back in home territory in the UK delighting audiences over here.

•Glasvegas are to perform as part of the Kilmarnock Edition Festival at the Grand Hall Kilmarnock on Saturday, February 2 supported by Ayrshire’s own Fatherson and Vukovi. This is going to be one heck of a gig!

The Daily Telegraph describe their music as “...a sparkling bed of harmonic spikes and melodic accidents, it’s like a marriage of the Clash, the Smiths, the Pixies and Jesus and Mary Chain. Glasvegas are a band their audience can believe in, and that is exactly what rock needs right now”.

Support band Vukovi’s influences range from Skunk Anansie to Rage Against the Machine and Incubus, which has seen them develop a raucous live show.

Fatherson are a four piece from Kilmarnock who have been making waves in the Scottish music scene following a string of supports with bands including Idlewild and Twin Atlantic and have made BBC Radio 1’s daytime playlist.

You can catch Vukovi again in Ayr on Friday, February 8 in The Basement Ayr with Russian Ninjas, Rubber and Vasa.

•Orange Unsigned winner Tommy Reilly will be returning to Ayrshire to perform at Ayr’s Su Casa on Sunday, February 3.

After delighting the crowds as part of Prestfest last year, Tommy will be returning to wow the crowds.

Tickets are available from Su Casa, Lorne Arcade Ayr.

•The Live@Troon Festival are looking for people interested in getting involved with this year’s festival.

It is becoming the epitomy of a great wee festival run by people who care and this year you could be a part of bringing it to life.

The Live@Troon committee will be meeting at the SouthBeach Hotel in Troon on Sunday, January 27 at 7.30pm.

So whether you’re interested in helping with PR, finding great music talent or helping with production or even just lending a hand then get along to the meeting on Sunday 27th.
