Could you open your home to someone far away from theirs this Christmas?

If so then Host UK want to hear from you.

Host UK arrange for international students studying in the UK to spend a day, weekend or Christmas in a British home.

Anne-Marie Ringler, volunteer organiser for Host UK, explained: “Every invitation is a one-off, there is no ongoing commitment to the student unless that is something both parties want.

“No student will be forced on you, you will always be given information about one or more students and you are free to offer an invitation or not.

“And all Host guests are over 18 and speak English.

“Even if you can’t take someone for Christmas, January is just as good.”
