Ayr man cutting his lengthy locks and donating it to charity

He’s been growing his luscious locks for a decade.

But now kind Craig Baillie is having his mammoth mane chopped off – and he’s giving the lot to a charity who make wigs for children battling cancer.

Craig, who lives in Ayr, said: “I’ve grown my hair for a long time and it is currently 26 inches long.

“I just basically decided now was the time to get it cut, and I just thought why fling it in the bin when it can do some good?”

And rocker Craig, who works for a top bank in Glasgow, is sending his hair to the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provide real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

But the cost of manufacturing just one wig is £350 on average.

However, the Little Princess Trust provide them to kids aged between six and 18, across the whole of the UK and Ireland, for free.

Craig, 29, said: “I’d read about the charity before and I thought they’d be the perfect charity to help.

“The first thing everyone asks me when they find out is when am I going to get it cut.

“I wanted to raise over £1000 to send to the charity as well and I swore I wouldn’t get it cut before I raised that.

“I’m hoping to raise as much as I can though.”

And despite only launching his JustGiving page a week ago, Craig has reached his target. But he wants to raise as much as he can
